Lawyers, Law, Blah Blah Blah...

Personally I think that lawyers are a necessary evil in this world. It’s not possible to judge lawyers as a group because of the difference in the individuals in that group. In a perfect world all lawyers would be honest, trustworthy, and relatively cheap. Unfortunately the world we live in isn’t perfect, every day in America we see highly paid lawyers with questionable practices operate in the grey areas of the law with no visible repercussions. I think all the unscrupulous practices are a direct result of the evil grip “The Almighty Dollar” has on this world. I would assume that one of the main reasons leading an individual to pursue a career in law is the high potential of six figure salaries. I believe the chase of financial success is necessary in everyone’s career path, but when a person’s passion leaves the equation and money is the only motivator left, it spells a recipe for disaster. And it’s those particular individuals that give lawyers as a group a bad reputation. There have been many legal cases that have been fought for the right reason, which shouldn’t be overlooked when it comes to passing judgment on lawyers as a whole. Laws were invented for a reason, we put our trust in the people and organizations that enforce them, yet most people have little trust in people and organizations they pay to interpret these laws, when they come into question. I think the greed driven individuals in the law industry are making it hard for anyone to put their complete trust in the hands of any lawyer these days. With the amount of technology available these days, and the speed of information from the internet to the end-user, I would urge anyone with any questions to take the time and do the necessary research. You be the judge!
