This movie is a great example of why I don’t ever want to have to deal with being the landlord of a rental property. After high school I was working as an assistant for a real estate agent, which prompted me to enroll in real estate school. I finished school, passed the licensing exams, and decided not to get my license. It became apparent that real estate just wasn’t my cup of tea, and the career was not something I thought was worth perusing. I have heard all the horror stories and this movie portrayed one of those possible horror stories perfectly. It seems that all the problems the movie couple was facing all stemmed from a short moment of poor judgment. It’s one of those cases where the law just didn’t work for them, they owned the property, and although they technically didn’t give the tenet permission to move in, when the cops arrived the tenet appeared to have every right to the property because he had a key. There are so many small mistakes you can make in the real estate industry that could turn around and cost you a small fortune, and I want to have no part in it aside from one day owning my own home.
